MASTER IN SOCIOLOGY
The sociology program is interested in inequalities, diversity, and social representations. It applies to various fields and attests to an understanding of the processes at work with actions, relationships, organizations, and social transformations; skills in qualitative and quantitative survey methods; and a capacity for critical analysis.
The Master’s Degree is very flexible and in reaching the varied interests of the students. Students can pursue a career in research or intervention, in a community setting, or a career as a college professor.
The M. Sc. offers students specialized training leading to research which constitutes the first step in a professional career.
Research fields include: work organizations, unionism, professions; ethnic relations, immigration, and racism; health and society; economy, development, and environment; state and social policies; social movements; urban sociology; culture and communication; family and society, social statistics and quantitative methodology; qualitative methodology; sociological theory.
