Teaching and research areas

Teaching at the Faculty of letters and human sciences emphasized the importance of a diffusion of French culture and Creole.

Exploration in its various departments promote a wide understanding of language, culture especially in areas such as, archaeology, archival science, cinema, communication, Ethnology classical studies, history, history of art, translation, journalism, museums, and public relations.

Teachers provide quality instruction and team students to pursue master’s and doctoral studies.

You will focus on the description of languages, on the theories of language or on the analysis of the relationship between language and society, all treated from different angles and thus deepen your knowledge of linguistics. The uniqueness of UGOC’s linguistics programs lies in the diversity of theoretical approaches adopted to address the challenges that linguistics faces in explaining the facts of language.
 
We invite you to contact one of the professors of the Department of Languages, Linguistics and Translation by sending them your (CV) and a short cover letter indicating your research interests. This is  good way to make the most of your schedule and to reconcile your studies with the other aspects of your life.

This will be an opportunity for you to focus on the description of languages, on the theories of language or on the analysis of the relationship between language and society approached from various angles. The particularity of the linguistics programs at Laval University is based on the diversity of the theoretical approaches adopted to meet the challenges that linguistics faces in explaining the facts of language.
