AT UGOC dreams become reality

University GOC has fifty-three professors who teach in its various disciplines.

The Academic Council advises the President on setting priorities and planning long-range goals. The collaboration between students, teachers, integration of education with multidisciplinary channels and staff is essential for mutual benefit.

ADMINISTRATION

The Academic Council will obtain pertinent information required to carry out advisory duties. It will be responsible to effectively foster and maintain connections with local industry, commerce, professionals, and research organization.

Chief Executive Officer

The President of the University is its Chief Executive Officer and reports directly to the Academic Council. He chairs the Academic Council and enforces approved decisions.  

The President may adopt new or revised administrative policies and procedures on initiatives or the recommendation of faculty or administrative staff.

Among the many other tasks assigned, the CEO remains responsible for the quality of education at UGOC, as set forth by the guidelines of the Academic Council.

The Dean is responsible for its academic faculty.

The Dean ensures the smooth running of all academic and para-academic activities of the department. He defines the policy of the education provided to students and ensures implementation and actualization.  He works closely with the CEO and the other member of the Council to align with the vision of UGOC. His functions are diverse and within the scope of  an Independent professional with full academic authority in the management of its prerogatives.

 

 

PRESIDENT

The President of UGOC communicates the vision and sets forth the mission locally and Internationally. The President will ensure strict compliance with all regulations which form the core of UGOC’s infrastructure. The President remains the responsible person who must ensure the quality of the training provided to the students.

His academic credentials include:

Dr. Fritz Olivier, President and founder of the University GOC, has two doctorates, one of which is from Howard University in Theology; the other from Wesley Theological Seminary in Leadership.

He is also a holder of three diplomas, majoring at Prat Institute in Architecture; the second at Princeton University in Theology; and the third at Howard University in Divinity.

The President’s responsibilities include:

  • oversight of the quality of the academic programs of the university;
  • supervision of the relationship between students and staff;
  • administration of personnel;
  • operation and maintenance of the property under the jurisdiction of the university;
  • consultation and cooperation with university groups on various matters, including planning for the future development of the university;
  • representation of the university in public affairs.

FOUNDER AND PRESIDENT OF GOC UNIVERSITY; DD.Min., Th.M., M.Div., M.Arch; Former President of the Association of Private Universities in Haiti.

Dr. Olivier has immeasurably contributed to the study of reforming the Haitian system in founding GOC. in Port-au-Prince. The understanding that Dr. Olivier has of the Haitian people, the government in his almost 50 years of service at GOC, makes him invaluable for this mission and the vision of  UGOC. 

In his book, “A New Vision,”  Dr. Olivier demonstrates an understanding and commitment to the region. Methodically and intelligently, Dr. Olivier outlines his observations and conclusions for approaching the problems of poverty and violence in Haiti.
